Roys Peak - Mt Alpha, 22 - 23 August 2015
A solo traverse of Roys Peak and Mount Alpha in beautiful winter conditions. I biked from the Fern Burn car park at the northern end of the Motatapu Track to the start of the Roys Peak Track, then traversed over the summit of Roys Peak to Mount Alpha. A cold place to camp! On Sunday I continued over Pt 1637m and Pt 1486m before descending to Fern Burn Hut, then walked down the Fern Burn on the Motatapu Track.
